Do I need a dance partner to attend the events or classes?
No, you absolutely do not need a partner to join any of our dance events, workshops, or salsa classes! We operate a rotation system during all our lessons and workshops, meaning you will get the opportunity to dance with many different people. This is one of the best ways to improve your leading and following skills, as well as a fantastic opportunity to make new friends within the Dublin salsa and bachata community.
What should I wear to a salsa or bachata party?
Comfort is key! For our regular weekly classes, wear comfortable activewear or casual clothing that allows you to move freely. For our weekend social events and bachata parties, many attendees prefer to dress up slightly, commonly opting for smart-casual attire. Regarding footwear, we highly recommend shoes with smooth soles (like suede or leather) to allow for easy spinning on the dance floor and to protect your knees. Avoid rubber-soled shoes that grip the floor too tightly.
I am a complete beginner. Can I still attend the socials?
Yes, beginners are warmly welcomed and strongly encouraged to attend our social events! Our socials often begin with an introductory or beginner-friendly workshop early in the evening to help you get comfortable with the basic steps. The Dublin Salsa Academy community is known for being incredibly supportive and welcoming to newcomers. Social dancing is the fastest way to build your confidence, improve your rhythm, and apply what you've learned in class to the dance floor.

Tickets for all our events, including special bachata weekends, salsa masterclasses, and holiday parties (like our St. Patrick's Day Social), can be purchased directly through this events page. We recommend booking in advance for international artist workshops as these frequently sell out due to high demand.
