When can I join the dance classes?

In Dublin Salsa Academy, we have courses available for new dancers to advanced level dancers. New dancer Level 1 is a 4-week course, while our full beginner programs (Combos 2-5) run for 8 weeks and include Level 1 plus a Level 2 Introduction. How can I pay for the dance classes?

Accepted Answer

We accept cash and Revolut. When you sign up, you'll receive an email with payment details. Cash payments are accepted at the door before class. Revolut payments include a small processing fee (typically €5–€10 extra depending on the plan) — this is the fee Revolut charges us, not a markup. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Do I need a dance partner to join the classes?

No, you don't need a partner for any dance classes. New dancers often come alone — it's completely normal. We rotate partners during Bachata, Line Salsa and Cuban Salsa so you get to dance with different people, which helps improve your skills and makes the learning experience more fun.

Are the classes suitable for complete beginners?

Absolutely! Our classes are designed for new dancers with no prior experience. We offer three dance styles to choose from - Sensual Bachata, Line Salsa and Cuban Salsa. Learners pick up the basics step by step in a fun and welcoming environment.

Question 5

What can I expect in my first class?

Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign in and meet your instructor. The class starts with a warm-up and basic steps, then you'll practise with different partners as we rotate every few minutes. No experience needed — new dancers welcome. Just comfortable clothes, smooth-soled shoes, and a positive attitude. Our instructors guide every learner step by step, so you'll be dancing from day one.

What should I wear to the dance classes?

Comfortable, easy-move clothing is fine. For shoes, smooth soles help with the turns and steps on our studio floor — dance shoes or smooth-soled footwear work best. Avoid sneakers with heavy grip.

Question 7

Can I try a class before committing to a full package?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We offer drop in classes, so you can experience a dance lesson before deciding on a full package. Drop In classes are available for all three dance styles taught in our dance school — Sensual Bachata, Line Salsa and Cuban Salsa. Please note, drop in classes are for Level 2 and above dancers only. If you're a complete beginner, start with our beginner combos — you can join from €45 for a 4-week course.

What's the difference between beginner combos and monthly plans?

Beginner combos (Combo 1–5) are fixed-term courses for new dancers — you pay once and attend classes for 4 or 8 weeks. After you complete your course, you can continue with a monthly plan (Standard, Extended, Flexi or Unlimited) which renews each month and lets you attend ongoing classes at intermediate and advanced levels.

Question 9

I missed a class or want to join mid-course — what should I do?

If you miss a class, contact us with a valid reason and we may extend your membership expiry date accordingly. For joining mid-course, Level 2 and above dancers can join any week. Beginners need to follow the enrolment cycle — new courses start the first week of every month. View the timetable for upcoming start dates.
