What Data We Collect
We collect information that allows us to manage your bookings and provide a safe dance environment.
Direct Information
Name, email address, phone number, and gender identity provided during registration.
Technical Data
IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically when you visit our site.
Booking History
Details of the classes, courses, and socials you have registered for and attended.
Media Content
Photographs and videos captured during classes and socials for marketing purposes (with your consent).
Legal Consent Audit Trail
To comply with insurance requirements and protect against legal disputes, we maintain a robust audit trail of your consent to our Terms and Waivers.
IP Address: We record your public IP address at the moment of registration.
Timestamp: We record the exact date and time (UTC) you checked the consent box.
Version Control: We track the specific version of the Terms and Waiver you agreed to.
Legal Basis: This processing is necessary for the purposes of our **Legitimate Interests** in defending legal claims and meeting insurance obligations.
How We Use Your Data
Service Delivery: To process your registration, communicate class updates, and manage attendance.
Marketing: To send you promotions about upcoming courses or events (only if you have opted in).
Safety & Compliance: To ensure we have emergency contact details and a signed record of health waivers.
Optimization: We use anonymized technical data to improve our website performance and user experience.

To exercise any of these rights, please email us directly. Note that we may be legally required to retain certain records (like signed waivers) for insurance purposes even after an erasure request.
Your Account and the App
In the Dublin Salsa Academy app we hold your profile details, your photo, your chats and a notification token for the phone you signed in on. Signing out removes that token, so the next student on that phone does not get your notifications.
You can delete your account yourself, two ways:
In the app: Profile, Edit, then Delete account at the bottom.
Without the app: the account deletion page, which works from any browser and needs no login. You can also email [email protected].
Deleting removes your login, your personal details, your photo, your chats, your friends, your goals and your notification tokens. We keep booking and payment records and your attendance history, because the academy needs those for its accounts, for tax and for insurance. That is a legal obligation, not a preference, and it is why the deletion asks you twice before it runs.
Third-Party Tracking
We use the **Meta Pixel** and **Google Analytics** to understand our marketing performance and student demographics.
