What’s On in Dublin: Beginner Dance Classes Starting in June 2026
June 5, 2026 • Kevin Brennan
As summer arrives in Dublin, the city comes alive with longer days and brighter evenings. If you’ve been looking for a way to break out of the post-work routine, meet new people, and bring some rhythm into your life, June is the absolute perfect month to start. Dublin Salsa Academy is launching a brand-new intake of Level 1 beginner courses. Whether you’ve danced before or believe you have “two left feet,” we design these classes to be fun, accessible, and welcoming.
Why Summer is the Perfect Time to Start Dancing
June brings a unique energy to Dublin. With the sun setting late, there is no better time to swap the usual pub outings or couch routines for the vibrant atmosphere of the dance floor. Learning to dance is more than just learning steps; it is a gateway to a massive social community. Over the course of the program, you’ll not only master the basic rhythms but also connect with a diverse group of people from all over Dublin.
At Dublin Salsa Academy, we focus on building a warm, encouraging environment. You don’t need any previous dance experience, and you don’t need to bring a partner. We rotate partners constantly during class, which is a great way to make new friends and build confidence quickly.
Class Schedules & Joining Info
Our June beginner courses run at the Harbourmaster in the heart of Dublin’s IFSC. Here are the starting schedules:
- Cuban Salsa (Level 1): Starts Monday, June 8th at 18:30. A circular, energetic, and highly social style of salsa.
- Sensual Bachata (Level 1): Starts Monday, June 8th at 19:30. A smooth, flowing style focused on body movement and partner connection.
- Line Salsa (Level 1): Starts Wednesday, June 10th at 18:30. A linear, fast, and structured style emphasizing turns and footwork.
- Where: Harbourmaster Bar & Restaurant, Custom House Quay, IFSC, Dublin 1 (D01 W0X8). Spacious, cheerful, and easily accessible by the Luas.
- Price: €85 for the full 8-week course, or €55 for a 4-week course if you just want to test it out before committing to the full cycle.
Important: The absolute last days to join the June intake are June 15th, 16th, and 17th. We strictly limit class sizes to ensure a balanced lead-to-follow ratio, so booking in advance is highly recommended.
No Partner? No Rhythm? No Problem.
Many people hesitate to start dancing because they worry about looking silly or dancing out of beat. Our instructors are professionals who break down the music step-by-step. In your first week, you will focus on basic rhythm, finding the beat, and simple weight transfers.
Because salsa and bachata are social dances, you will swap partners every few minutes. By the end of your first hour, you will have shared a laugh and danced with almost everyone in the room. Just wear comfortable clothing, flat shoes, and bring a bottle of water.
